Brand Photography: Wirksworth Sustainable Jeweller Susannah Brookes.
Susannah Brookes was awarded a bursary for photography by Arts Derbyshire and Derbyshire Makes as part of the Create Growth programme. When we initially spoke Susannah said she had some really good images of her excellent jewellery workshops in her beautiful space in Wirksworth, Derbyshire but just needed a few shots of her own jewellery business. As I asked questions and delved a little further we uncovered that there are many elements of her business that she was overlooking marketing - from the heritage lace she uses in her designs to the sustainable packaging that is sourced carefully in line with her own values.
Throughout the call we went through her website, talked about some social media post ideas and talked about how she may use a new set of photos - including pitching for magazine features, creating brochures for markets and other uses. We came up with a list of shots that would be useful and I went away and drafted them into a unique moodboard that captured some of the emotions and feelings she expressed on our call.
The result was a fun, targeted shoot that saw us shooting in her studio and out and about in the local area as she sourced packaging and the lace that is central to her work. We also captured some of the things she loves about her local area so Susannah was able to talk about this in her content plan.
