Editorial Feature: A Derbyshire Home Garden Series for The Simple Things Magazine.
In early Spring last year, on a warm and clear day, I sat with Michelle of My Derbyshire Life and the editorial team of The Simple Things magazine in Michelles gorgeous garden while we planned a year long feature documenting Michelle’s life in the garden growing her own produce, tending to her quails and cooking up nutritious food.
The magazine wanted a feature the readers could really connect with using photography that was natural and felt real. Each month Michelle and I met at her home and spent the day shooting recipes, portraits of her and documenting any changes in the garden and jobs she needed to go specific to that month.
This shoot is the first instalment of those features, shot in May 2025 and came out in the magazine in May this year. I hope you enjoy them and do check out the issue of the magazine.
Featuring my lovely Monty who devastatingly passed away at the end of last year, but it was lovely to see these photos and be reminded what a lovely boy he was and how he got to be on shoots 🤎
