Brand shoot: The Body in Mind - Psychologist and Therapist in Burton on Trent.

Dr Nancy Bancroft initially reached out because she is planning to branch out more as an educator this year. As a doctor, her services are a unique blend of evidence based psychology and therapy incorporating EMDR and CBT as well as breath work and movement.

When planning our shoot the location started as a sticking point - Nancy wanted a neutral backdrop and one that was a meeting point for us between her home in Herefordshire and mine in Derbyshire. Together we settled on a Styled Home Studios location in Burton on Trent which we chose for the palette and the huge window that connected Nancy to nature in her photos.

Starting off with some somatic movement, I captured Nancy in motion and then sat in as a client for her as we recorded that element of her work. We also worked through our shoot plan where we had elements of her ‘at work’ using the warm dining area and then in the cosy, dark snug so she has some moodier images for later in the year.
