Brand shoot: Jane Bevan - Contemporary Nature Artist.
Creative: Jane Bevan
Service: contemporary craft from nature
Jane is an artist using natural and found materials, which she collect on daily walks in the ancient woodland near her home in Derbyshire, close to Caulke Abbey. Jane gathers the materials that catch her eye - thorns, bark, seeds, feathers and acorn cups. Jane says these materials are often overlooked, trodden on and discarded despite the wealth of colour, pattern and texture they offer. The irregularities, tiny imperfections and random twists and turns make each item unique.
These ‘natural treasures’ are then hand-stitched, tied, woven and intricately assembled into vessels, sculptures and collage in Jane’s beautiful Derbyshire studio.
Janes was awarded a photography bursary through a scheme with Derbyshire Makes, Arts Derbyshire and Create Growth and when we started the planning process we explored the different approaches we could take and settled on a brand shoot with a few product photos in her studio. We would capture her process foraging near her home and bringing the materials back to the studio to work with.
If you’re an artist who is ready to get their work seen and get on the platforms that allow you to charge more and be taken seriously, this is your sign to book a shoot with me!
