Soulful Spaces: Charleston Festival Photography.

One wonders how important the role of place is in history. How certain places inspired change or thinking outside the box. A place speaking to this importance is Charleston Farmhouse and it’s history. How it became a hub of liberation and creativity and the founding home of The Bloomsbury Group.

If you’ve ever been to Charleston you’ll know how profoundly impactful wondering around the rooms and gardens can be. So it was a huge honour for me to be invited to capture the last, vibrant day of their May festival. From talks with Annie Ernaux and Sally Rooney in conversation to the east breezy atmosphere of all manner of folk hanging out in the gardens and around the pond. Everyone bought to this wonderful place in the Sussex countryside led by curiousness and an appetite for inspiration.

I’m proud to share these images of the festival. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
