Derbyshire: Photography of Matlock Forest.
High above Matlock is a collection of seven quiet forests which make up the little known but magical Matlock Forest. Each one has it’s own character and this one is Bottom Moor. Over the past 2+ years I’ve seen the extremes of the seasons in these woods and they are a very special place to Monty and I. The radius in which we walk here has shrunk as Monty’s chin has sprouted more grey hairs but I am never bored with my camera in hand and Monty sniffing about in the ferns.
These photos come straight off my Fuji XT-4 - it would feel a disservice to these incredible woods to play with it’s natural display.
Over the way in Farley Woods a group of people tirelessly campaign to save them as they are in threat of having 75+ holiday cabins built on them which would see 1300 trees felled and hundreds of species of fauna and flora badly affected.
