Brand shoot: A session on film for designer and artist Matt Brooks, aka Earthboy.

There's something about shooting on film that just makes sense for a venture like Earthboy. Matt's work lives in that lovely overlap between fine art and play - colourful, hands on, a little bit chaotic in the best way and I wanted the images to feel the same. I wanted to move away from polished digital sheen and bring warmth, grain and real moments that showed both Matt as both a very talented and experienced artist but also a playful human that steals moments between being a Dad and working with known brands to play and work on this colourful art.

We spent the day in Nottingham at Matt’s home capturing a set of shots that could work hard: something an art director could drop straight into a portfolio or press kit and something a parent scrolling for half term workshops would look at and think yes, my kid needs this. Playful but considered.

These are the film frames from the shoot - the ones with oodles of texture to them, the analogue magic that Matt loves and a little softness. The kind of images that feel like they were made rather than just taken. Check Matt out here.
